Ai campionati di Lipsia (Germania) l’atleta del Centro Sportivo dell’A.M. di Vigna di Valle ha battuto in finale il connazionale Aspromonte In finale il livornese ha avuto la meglio sul connazionale Valerio Aspromonte, sconfitto per 15-11, in un assalto tiratissimo. Inizialmente sotto per 9-5, Baldini ha ripreso Aspromonte sul 9 pari e, con grande esperienza, ha piazzato l’allungo finale e decisivo per la conquista del titolo. Negli assalti di semifinale, Baldini aveva sconfitto il russo Ganeev col netto punteggio di 11-3 e nei quarti il russo Sedov col punteggio di 15-5.
