Un velivolo C-130J della 46^ Brigata Aerea di Pisa ha trasportato autoveicoli blindati e merci dell’ONU destinati in Siria Il velivolo, proveniente dall’aeroporto militare toscano, è atterrato a Brindisi alle ore 15.30 e, dopo le operazioni di carico, è ripartito alla volta di Beirut (Libano), alle ore 17.30. Un altro volo è stato effettuato il giorno successivo perper trasportare ulteriori materiali e mezzi. I mezzi saranno impiegati a sostegno della missione delle Nazioni Unite in Siria, decisa dal Consiglio di Sicurezza con la risoluzione n. 2042 del 14 Aprile che prevede l’invio di osservatori per monitorare il rispetto del “cessate il fuoco”. Il Distaccamento dell’Aeronautica Militare di Brindisi, posto alle dipendenze del Vice Comandante Logistico, dell’Aeronautica Militare, fornisce supporto alle attività di “peacekeeping” del Centro Servizi Globale delle Nazioni Unite (UNGSC) e umanitarie della Base di Pronto Intervento Umanitario (UNHRD).
