Il bambino è stato immediatamente trasferito presso l’Ospedale Pediatrico “Giannina Gaslini” Equipaggi e velivoli da trasporto dell’Aeronautica Militare sono pronti giorno e notte, 365 giorni all’anno, 24 ore su 24 per assicurare, laddove richiesto e ritenuto necessario per motivi di urgenza, il trasporto sanitario di persone in imminente pericolo di vita, trasporto organi o equipe mediche come in questa occasione. Sono centinaia ogni anno le ore di volo effettuate per questo genere di interventi dagli aerei del31° Stormodi Ciampino, del14° Stormodi Pratica di Mare e della46ª Brigata Aereadi Pisa. Per questo genere di missioni di soccorso, ove ci siano particolarinecessità operative, vengono impiegati anche gli elicotteri del15° Stormo.
