Due tappe fondamentali raggiunte grazie al contributo italiano al programma Venerdì 25 ottobre, presso la Casa dell’Aviatore, si è svolta la cerimonia di consegna della Military Type Certification (MTC) e della comunicazione del callsign (nominativo radio) designato per i velivoli del programma AGS (Alliance Ground Surveillance) dell’Alleanza Atlantica. Il programma NATO AGS, strutturato su velivoli APR HALE (High Altitude Long Endurance) e su vari sistemi di terra, nasce da un’iniziativa di 15 Nazioni Alleate, all’interno della quale l’Italia riveste un ruolo di primaria importanza, in quanto terzo Paese contributore (dopo Stati Uniti e Germania) ed Host Nation, ruolo fondamentale in termini di supporto logistico, infrastrutturale e tecnico-operativo.
