Present at the inauguration was Chief Inspector General Domenico Esposito. In his speech, Colonel Rovazzani, after thanking those who, in various capacities, contributed to the creation of the Aula Magna, briefly recalled the various phases of the logistical-administrative process that followed one another over time and which represented the genesis of this important work that will considerably enrich the logistical-teaching potential of the Institute.
The Aula Magna, like the other rooms in the Leonardo Campus, is named after an Italian-designed aircraft, specifically the Savoia Marchetti 79 Sparviero. It is equipped with 247 seats and the most modern multimedia technologies, which allow, among other things, the possibility of interacting via videoconferencing with the other classrooms in the Campus.
For Colonel Sciandra, the work represents the perfect synthesis and precise practical translation of the various aspects and phases that should characterise a state-owned work: from the identification of needs, to the realisation of the project, right through to the supervision of the works' execution.
The ceremony was followed by a conference at a packed lecture hall, given by General Domenico Esposito, which took place in the newly inaugurated hall. This activity is part of the Marshal School's Study Plan, which includes lectures from distinguished figures in various sectors of expertise to offer a qualified perspective on topics of absolute interest and importance.
During the meeting, General Esposito outlined the structure and operation of the Directorate of Aeronautical Armaments and Airworthiness, focusing on the F35 programme.
The day concluded with the signing of General Esposito's Visitors“ Book, in which he highlighted how the Institute represents “a model of efficiency with a future-oriented footprint“.
