The Logistics Commander visits the Multipurpose Logistics Centre
Accompanied by Inspector General Pierluigi Ciardelli, Commander of the 2nd Division of the Logistic Command, upon his arrival at the Guidonia military airport, General Salvestroni was received by Colonel Giorgio Di Zenzo, Commander of the CLP, Colonel Giuseppe Midili, Director of the AM Commissariat, and Colonel Antonio Picariello, Commander of the Airport / Gliding Centre.
During the usual briefing to General Salvestroni, the specific activities belonging to the CLP were presented. The CLP was established on 1st March 2014 following the closure of the 1st Central Depot of Monterotondo and the need to transfer, reorganise and implement its technical-logistical functions at Guidonia Airport. During the subsequent visit to the facilities, General Salvestroni was able to appreciate, among other things, the specific activities carried out in the calibration laboratories and the management of survival and rescue equipment.
When signing the Book of Honour, General Salvestroni expressed his sincere satisfaction with the commitment shown by the CLP in support of the Air Force's operational activities. In particular, during his welcome address to all the staff of the organisation, General Salvestroni highlighted the valuable work carried out daily, underscoring the effort made to facilitate the transfer of skills, equipment, and materials from the Monterotondo site to Guidonia, as well as the spirit of service with which the staff faced the difficulties arising from the change of duty station.
In recognition of the significant importance the visit of Gen. Salvestroni represented for the CLP, Col. Di Zenzo presented the distinguished guest with a souvenir item, receiving in return the crest of the AM Logistic Command.
