HACKADEMY, THE CHALLENGE IN CYBER SECURITY

The 1st Cyber Challenge among military academies took place at the Aeronautical Academy in Pozzuoli On November 11 and 12, the event took place at the’Air Force Academy of Pozzuoli “HackAdemy““Training activities aimed at disseminating among young officers and members the culture of cyber security.
The event represented the first cyber challenge military type “Capture the Flag” created at the inter-service level between the military academies and formed the Pilot project to launch a “Hackademy on tour” to be held at all training institutions.
Organized in synergy with the Inter-Service Command for Cyber Operations (CIOC) saw the participation of Officers and students from the Air Academy, Military Academy, Naval Academy, E.I. Application School and a representative of students from the master’s degree course in Computer Engineering of the’University of Studies of Naples “Federico II”, with a total of 36 participants divided into six teams of diverse composition.
The six groups competed against each other in events such as “capture the flag”, hacking activities to try to identify software vulnerabilities in cyber scenarios created by CIOC for the occasion.
The event, which generated considerable enthusiasm from the young participants, saw the real teams competing for the final prize, namely an invitation to participate as an observer at the next “Locked Shields 2020”– multinational cyber exercise in which the company takes part annually Italian defense.
