Another foreign delegation interested in the training activities of the Salento flight school. After the briefing, the Officers visited the main facilities related to flight activity: the simulators and the R.E.S. (Representation and Elaboration System) room, a device that allows, in an automated and computerised manner, the reconstruction of the complex dynamics of flight missions. The delegation showed particular interest in the sophisticated integrated training system for the T-346 ITS aircraft, the latest generation Italian “trainer” destined for the Salento flight school.
The visit concluded with the traditional exchange of Crests.
“The event once again provided a valuable opportunity to showcase national qualities and capabilities in flight training to other countries, opening the door to the development of future forms of cooperation., declared Major Giovanni Trebisonda, Interim Commander of the Base.“The 61st Wing – added the Major – it is involved in a radical process of valuing the knowledge and skills it holds: new challenges have reawakened in personnel the awareness and relevance of their function and the extremely delicate role that the Armed Force has attested to the Salento reality. Even though it will be very demanding for everyone, it is essential to carry forward this growth process with the concrete objective of establishing itself as a niche of excellence for advanced flight training at national and international level.“.
