Air Force 4.0 On Wednesday 16 May, at the “Ajmone Cat” room in Palazzo Aeronautica, the results of the “Feedback at 360°” project were presented. The purpose of the project is to experiment with an innovative methodology for developing work performance in order to implement more effective strategies at the individual, group and organizational levels. The activity was carried out through a series of self-evaluation and peer-evaluation tools that involved all the personnel of the Command of the Logistics Department, from the Commander, Air Force General Giovanni Fantuzzi, to the Division/Service Chiefs and the Office Chiefs. The intervention was carried out as part of the activities of the International Research Laboratory called “Strategic Human Resource Management for Innovation”; the results were presented by Prof. Carlo Odoardi of the University of Florence, Scientific Director of the Laboratory, and by Colonel Bruno Strozza, Chief of the General Office of the General Staff of the State Aviation Innovation Office. The event was held in the presence of the Logistics Commander and all participants of the project.
The application of this methodology was replicated in favor of the High Command, following the positive results obtained within the Air Staff, which for the first time in the Armed Forces and throughout the entire Public Administration implemented this innovative HR practice. Through this assessment, it was possible to measure the behaviors that influenced the performance of the entire leadership of the division, thus providing a broader view of the strengths and areas for improvement to be addressed in order to promote efficiency, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness in operations. General Fantuzzi, at the conclusion of the event, while commending the work carried out, emphasized the transformation that will lead the Logistics Command to evolve into a leaner, increasingly agile, and adaptable structure, as well as open to innovation. In this sense, this initiative of organizational development fits in, which allows for managing the inevitable change in a systematic, methodical and organic manner. Furthermore, he thanked Prof. Odoardi, the University of Florence and the General Office for Managerial Innovation, which, in particular, facilitated and supported the experiment with innovative methodologies and models that represent an important tool for the transformation and improvement of the entire Armed Forces.
