Produced by Macchi on behalf of the Ministry of Aeronautics to participate in the 1929 Schneider Trophy at Calshot (England), the Macchi M.67 was a development of the previous M.52.
Constructed with a wooden frame and outer covering, it was characterised by the presence of surface radiators on the wings, floats and their associated struts.
Three units were built.
After participating in the trophy, from which they were forced to withdraw due to engine problems, they were used in Desenzano for the training of pilots from the High Speed Department and for the experimentation of two-blade and four-blade propellers.
