The urgent transport was carried out at the specific request of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) to save the life of a compatriot of ours admitted to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.
It Falcon 50 The patient was embarked at Ben Gurion Airport, having arrived by ambulance, and landed at Turin Caselle Airport around 4 PM. They were assisted on board by a medical team from the’San Giovanni Bosco Hospital of Turin, In addition to a doctor and a healthcare assistant from the Air Force, the patient was subsequently transported by ambulance to the Turin Hospital.
The health protocol was activated through intense coordination work between the’Office of the Prime Minister's Flights and the Air Force Command Situation Room, the operations room of the Air Force, which has among its tasks that of organising and managing these types of interventions for Italian citizens, residing in the Republic or abroad, who are in situations of grave danger.
Requests for flights for humanitarian purposes are made to the Prefectures (in the case of citizens residing in Italy) or to the Italian diplomatic and consular representations (in the foreign country where the citizen is in danger), which in turn forward them to the Prime Minister's Office – General Secretariat – Office for State, Government and Humanitarian Flights.
