From 6 to 10 June, the Latina Wing underwent a local defence exercise to test the unit's tactical and command skills.
The commitment and spirit of sacrifice consistently sustained the personnel who, under the command of Colonel Giovanni Francesco Adamo, ensured the defence of the military installation besieged by the evaluation team, commanded by Colonel Enrico Pierobon of the CSA, until the end of the assessment. At the end of the exercise, satisfied with the positive outcome, Colonel Adamo greeted and thanked Colonel Pierobon's team, inviting all his men to refocus on daily activities to guarantee and uphold the high standards required of all Air Force entities. The Air Squad Command is tasked with preparing and training operational Departments and Units so that they acquire and maintain the levels of readiness, operational capability, and related logistical autonomy necessary to achieve the objectives defined by the Armed Force. It also performs the operational deployment functions of the Departments through the structure of the Air Operations Command (COA) in Poggio Renatico (Ferrara), integrated into the joint C2 (Command and Control) system and interoperable in allied and international environments, in accordance with the directives and operational planning of NATO and the Chief of Defence Staff.
For over fifty years, the 70th Wing has conducted pilot training courses for cadets of the Italian Air Force, other Armed Forces and State Corps, and those from certain foreign countries.
