Wednesday 26 January, urgent medical transport with a C27 J from the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa. The transport request, which became necessary to guarantee immediate specialist medical care, was sent by the hospital in Pietra Ligure (SV) to the Prefecture of Savona and arrived at the Situation Room of the Air Force Staff, which ordered the flight to be carried out.
The aircraft, an Italian Air Force C27 J belonging to the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa, landed at Albenga Airport at 17:00 local time, before landing at Cervia at 18:40, where the patient, assisted during the flight by the medical staff of the Pietra Ligure hospital, was subsequently transported by ambulance to the ‘Bufalini’ hospital in Cesena. Once the rescue operation was completed, the C27 J departed from Cervia for Pisa's ’San Giusto’ Airport.
