An HH-3F helicopter of the 82nd C.S.A.R. Centre of Trapani has transported a young woman whose life was in danger. At 00.35, the aircraft took off from the military airport of Trapani, by order of the Rescue Coordination Centre under the authority of the Air Operations Command of Poggio Renatico (FE), to transport the pregnant young woman from the island of Ponza (LT) to Latina. The helicopter, having arrived at 02.20 at the Ponza telepost pad, embarked the woman, her husband and the doctor from the island's medical post and then departed, at 02.35, for the military airport of Latina. The risk of premature birth on board forced the crew to carry out the transfer with the utmost caution to avoid further complications. The aircraft reached its destination at 03.05, leaving the woman in the care of 118 Service doctors and, after refuelling at the Pratica di Mare Base (Rome), returned to Trapani. The 82nd C.S.A.R. Centre of Trapani, under the authority of the 15th Wing of Cervia (RA), guarantees, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty, also contributing to public utility activities such as the search for missing persons at sea or in the mountains, emergency medical transport of patients whose lives are in danger and the rescue of severely traumatised individuals.
