The first phase of the course, which lasted 5 weeks, aimed to provide future “Forward Air Controllers” with operational knowledge and techniques for conducting Close Air Support operations.
The School of Aerocooperation is the Inter-Service Military Institute for specialized training and technical and operational proficiency in the field of interpretation of remote-sensing (aerial and satellite) images and in the field of air-ground and naval cooperation. To train and qualify Advanced Air Controllers, the School has recently also obtained NATO certification.
The courses held at the School of Aerospace Cooperation are open, in addition to military personnel of the Armed Forces, to personnel external to the Defense Administration and to military personnel of NATO and of the countries participating in the international Partnership for Peace (PfP) program, subject to authorization by the General Staff of the Defense.
