The course is a prerequisite for the qualification on the new aircraft provided to the 15th Stormo. Courses of this type, aimed at the flying personnel of the Department, are a precursor to the subsequent phase in flight necessary for the acquisition of the qualification on the aircraft recently acquired by the Armed Forces; until that time, they were carried out at the Agusta-Westland company in Cascina Costa (LC), as provided for by the contract for the acquisition of the aircraft. For the 8 participating pilots, all of whom belong to the 15th Stormo and who serve not only in Romagna but also at the affiliated centers located in Pratica di Mare, Gioia del Colle and Trapani, this was the first step towards achieving full operational capability. During the solemn closing ceremony of the course, Colonel Pilot Franco Trozzi, Commander of the 15th Flight Training Center, expressed his appreciation for the personnel of the 81st Training Center for the excellent quality of the training provided and extended his compliments to the participants for their commitment. The 15th Flight Training Center, with its squadrons/centers, guarantees 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty, in addition to contributing to public utility activities such as the search for missing persons at sea or in the mountains, the emergency medical transport of seriously ill people, and the rescue of severely traumatized people. The 15th Flight Training Center has saved approximately 7,000 people since its establishment to date.
