Thursday 12 May, at the University of Ferrara, the debate, coordinated by Col. Scirocco, Head of the Legal Affairs Office of COA. After the introduction by Prof. Francesco Salerno, Professor of International Law, Colonel Roberto Scirocco of COA gave a lecture on the status of journalists in armed conflicts. The three professionals then spoke, whose contributions were particularly compelling, also thanks to their personal and direct experiences in operational theatres. The debate was moderated by Colonel Scirocco, Head of the Legal Affairs Office of COA and ’Legal Advisor‘ to the Commander of COA and CAOC5. Indeed, at Poggio Renatico, the training of young Officer Commissaries as Legal Advisors for air operations has been consolidated for some years: whether they are real, such as the reinforced Air Defence system within the framework of the G8 Grand Event in L'Aquila in 2009, or exercise-based, such as the ’Virtual Flag‘ 2009 and 2010 exercises or the ’Spring Flag' series.
