The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force chaired the off-site meeting of the Department Heads of the Air Force Staff. The meeting, attended by the Department Heads of the Staff, was held away from the usual headquarters at Palazzo Aeronautica in Rome in order to bring the Armed Force's leadership closer to the various Departments.
The delegation was welcomed by Colonel Alfredo Nazzi, Commander of the Unit, who explained the specific characteristics and main activities of the Decimomannu Air Base. In an international context and in cooperation with the “German Air Force”, the base provides technical, logistical, and operational support to numerous Italian and foreign flying squadrons deployed in Sardinia for air-to-air and air-to-ground training range activities. Subsequently, the Officers took part in the “Staff Meeting” in the Briefing Room of the Command Office.
Before leaving the island for Pratica di Mare and after the traditional exchange of the Crest, General Corsini signed the Unit's Honour Book, expressing words of high praise: “It's always an emotional experience to return to Decimomannu for those who experienced important moments in their professional development at this Base. Thanks to the Commander and the personnel of the Department for their exquisite hospitality. I wish everyone a good day's work! ”
