The delegation from the Didactic and Management Training Center of Florence visited the Italian Air Advisory Team. The delegation is responsible for the “Advisor” courses, for our Air Force personnel who are subsequently assigned to carry out this activity in the operational theaters. The eight-day visit allowed them to learn about the state of the art of the activity in the various components of the Afghan base, the objectives defined by the coalition of countries that are part of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan to train the local leadership and the operational procedures to standardize the training of the Afghan Air Force (AAF).
The experience gained by the delegation, in contact with industry operators, will allow the content of the ‘Advisor’ course to be adapted to the Afghan scenario. The course will be held at the Air Force Center in the near future. The course is aimed at preparing the next Italian “Advisors” who will be employed in training Afghan colleagues, through whom they will gradually achieve the final goal of a professional, autonomous and sustainable Afghan Air Force.
