Five interventions in seven days in Campania and Sicily There is no break or vacation for those who are responsible for saving human lives. It was a week of intense work, the one of Ferragosto, for the crews of the 15th Air Force Squadron of the Italian Air Force, who were particularly involved in the search and rescue of five people.
Search and rescue is just one of the services the Italian Air Force provides to the public, using the capabilities and professionalism of the Defense to serve the country. SAR – search and rescue – is a special specialty that actually stems from the need to operate in search and rescue of military crews and personnel in difficulty, both in Italy and abroad. This capability, made possible by the use of technologically advanced means and crews trained for all environmental conditions, can be directed, as happened during the intense week of Ferragosto, directly to the citizen.
