The air rescue, carried out by an HH-139B helicopter from the 85th SAR (Search and Rescue) Centre of Pratica di Mare (RM), concluded this evening. The operation, conducted on the Ponza – Latina route, allowed for the urgent medical transport of a 54-year-old man in serious health condition.

The activation request came from the Prefecture of Latina to the Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) of the Aerospace Operations Command (COA) in Poggio Renatico (FE) which, among its duties, also includes managing these types of missions for the benefit of the community.

The military helicopter crew on alert took off from Pratica di Mare airport and headed to Latina hospital, where a specialised medical team was collected. Subsequently, the helicopter reached the island of Ponza, where the patient was loaded on board and urgently transported to Latina.

Once landed at the provincial capital, the patient was transferred to an ambulance and subsequently conveyed to a healthcare facility for necessary medical attention.
