Around 130 pilots, instructors and aviation enthusiasts gathered in Ghedi for a day dedicated to Flight Safety. General (r) Giulio Cacciatore, Director General of the AeCI, in his speech, outlined the statistics of flight accidents in the field of aviation from Diporto and Sportivo (VDS), calling for greater contribution in reporting possible inconveniences/accidents in order to prevent them. Among the participants is Professor Bonsanti, a professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Reggio Calabria and responsible for the “SV Notebook”, an online informational tool to be released soon, who will deal with topics such as “Operational Risk Management and Safety Management System”.
The Engineer Ferrara, Head of the Safety Department, intervened on behalf of ENAV, highlighting the incidence in the statistics of “Unauthorized Penetration of Aerospace” (UPA) in the airspaces managed by ENAV and the current procedures for conducting flights in the Control Areas (CTR) of Verona.
The Flight Safety Inspectorate was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Gerardi who illustrated the evolution of the SV in the Air Force, from the year when the Flight Safety Inspectorate was founded (1991) to today. During the intervention, among other things, the “Just Culture”, communication and elements necessary for improving the “Safety” performance in complex organizations were discussed.
Prevention, transparency and communication are, in fact, the three principles underlying the proper dissemination of SV culture; by prevention we mean transparency in admitting our own mistakes through effective communication.
Thanks to the SV/ATM Officers from Ghedi, Piacenza and Padova, in the afternoon, the flight procedures to be adopted in the air space (ATZ, CTR) of the airports in the area and of the Padova FIR were highlighted, emphasizing the OAT traffic and the traffic conflicts.
The briefing by the Flight Safety Officer of the 6th Air Wing on “Near Mid Air Collision” and on the scanning techniques to be used inside the cockpit was also very appreciated.
The seminar then concluded with the awarding of certificates of participation.
The Flight Safety seminars are aimed at commercial aviation pilots, General (A.G.) and of Pleasure and Sports Flying (VDS), who carry out flight activities at the airfields and flight areas located in the areas adjacent to military airports.
Particular attention is given to prevention aspects and to issues related to unauthorized collisions/penetrations in controlled airspaces.
The calendar of the upcoming SV seminars includes: Air Traffic Control/Flight Group at Veladi Guidonia 8 March, 37th Flight Wing of Trapani 15 March, Avio Superficie di Valdera-Pisa 22 March, 61st Flight Wing of Lecce 4 April, Experimental and Standardization Department at the Air Force Shooting Range at Decimomannu 16 May, 4th Flight Wing of Grosseto 13 June, 15th Flight Wing of Cervia 27 September, 36th Flight Wing of Gioia del Colle 29 September, 2nd Flight Wing of Rivolto 24 October.
