It took place in Perdasdefogu, Sardinia, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Luca Goretti, on behalf of the Government Representative for the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Dear Mr Corrias, of numerous military, institutional, religious authorities and the Mayors of neighbouring Municipalities, for the ceremony of change of command of the Joint Interforce Firing Range of Quirra (P.I.S.Q.) and the Air Force Command for the Sardinia Region (C.A.M.R.A.S.) between the Air Brigadier General Davide Marzinotto (outgoing) and the Air Brigade General Davide Cipelletti (coming in).
In the prestigious musical setting of the Sassari Brigade band and in a ceremonial atmosphere enriched by numerous guests, General Marzinotto said he was moved and deeply proud to have undertaken an exciting journey. He therefore expressed particular thanks to the Chief of Staff, General Goretti, for the trust placed in him, for the invariably invaluable guidance received, and for the particular attention to the issues concerning entities in Sardinia. And also to the Logistics Commander of the Air Force, Air Force Corps General Antonio Conserva, for their proximity and constant support in every important decision, and to all the employees who, during his command, acted with loyalty, passion, and professionalism.
Three intense years, marked by continuity on the ambitious projects initiated by predecessors, lived in close synergy with institutions, with full respect for the territory and with a strong push towards the use of digital technologies that today favour the use of training areas through simulated and realistic scenarios. To the new Commander, General Marzinotto therefore expressed his heartfelt “good luck”, firmly convinced that he will be able to maintain the exceptional standards required to allow CAMRAS and PISQ to confirm the Italian Air Force's international leadership in the field of innovation, experimentation, aerospace and advanced training.
General Cipelletti, in expressing his deep gratitude to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force for the trust shown, guaranteed unconditional commitment to achieving the expected results arising from the prestigious assignment, thanking all those present and assuring full cooperation with all institutions, the world of research, academia and industry, and the mayors of the territory.
It General Goretti, In thanking all the attending authorities, he highlighted how the presence of public institutions lends prestige to the ceremony and constitutes an occasion of evident importance, not only for the Air Force, but for the entire Sardinian territory, which honours and confirms the strength of a synergistic approach relating to activities and objectives always geared towards the common good of the community. The strategic value that the Autonomous Region of Sardinia holds for the Italian Air Force from an operational, training, and experimental perspective is evident from the significant projects that the Armed Force has carried out in the region. This signifies the Air Force's attention towards Sardinia, given the many development opportunities involving the civilian sector, industry, and research. Addressing his speech to the outgoing and incoming Generals, he specified that the Command of C.A.M.R.A.S. and P.I.S.Q. is a particularly relevant assignment due to its peculiarities and extremely diverse spheres, with a strong reflection and impact on the Armed Force's operational capabilities.
He therefore recognised in the General Marzinotto the merit of having led their personnel with great balance and unparalleled institutional sensitivity, creating the ideal conditions for the activities of all components of their organisation to express and develop with the necessary speed and rigour, in the ambitious project inherited and continued in a race “the relay race”with dedication and stubbornness.
In addressing the General Cipelletti, He said he was convinced that he would succeed in ensuring, along with his personnel, the full operational capability not only of the Armed Force itself, but of the entire Joint Forces sector, and in providing further impetus to the many activities planned.
