The meeting was chaired by Brigadier General of the Air Force Luca Valeriani
Brigadier General Luca Valeriani, the Italian Military Representative in the Consortium, welcomed his French counterpart, Rear Admiral Philippe Bon, and all the participants at the meeting. In addition to the national military delegates, representatives of the Logistics Command and the “Centre International de Gestion des Materiels Atlantic” (CIGMA) also participated in the meeting.
The working session developed through the reports of the Director of CIGMA, the Director of the Technical Sub-Committee and the status report on the Italian fleet prepared by the Logistics Command. It concluded with the approval of the forecast budget for the year 2013. The Consortium, founded in 1961 to develop, implement and support the logistics of the Br-1150 Atlantic aircraft, and the first example of European cooperation in the field of defense, was the precursor of all modern international programs. The effective cooperation that characterizes it has enabled the creation of the first, and currently the only, ground aircraft specifically designed to operate at sea, which has been carrying out its mission daily for over 40 years, surpassing the milestone of 250,000 hours flown.
