On 25th May 2018, the quality certification of the Italian Air Force's Aviation English Training Centre (Cen.For.Av.En.) was renewed. For Cen.For.Av.En., the quality certification represents confirmation of the standards achieved over recent years in the design and delivery of residential and e-learning courses for general and specialist language training in Aviation English. The certification examines not only the organisational processes directly dedicated to course delivery, but also those providing logistical support, such as accommodation and mess facilities, and technological support, such as IT and communications services—all of which are interdependent and functional to a highly differentiated training offering. Indeed, the Centre employs both traditional techniques and tools, such as the classic classroom lesson using blackboards, as well as virtual classrooms and the use of tablets and interactive IT resources.
The quality certification also complements the ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority) certification, which recognises Cen.For.Av.En. as an Aviation English Testing Centre for administering tests and certifying English language proficiency in accordance with the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standard, the specialised UN agency that has promoted the safety and development of civil aviation worldwide since 1944.
