Crews from the 84th Combat Search and Rescue Centre of Gioia del Colle (BA) and rescuers from the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps in joint training for aerial search and rescue It took place on Friday 4th June, at the Agro di Monopoli (BA),a joint training exercise between the personnel of’84th Centre Combat Search and Rescue (C.S.A.R.) from Gioia del Colle (BA) and the rescue workers of National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps of Puglia and Basilicata aimed at consolidating the procedures necessary for the flight operations of Search and rescue in the event of a real emergency.L’The 84th Centre is one of the departments of the 15th Wing of the Air Force which guarantees, seamlessly, the search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty, also contributing to public utility activities such as, in addition to the search for missing persons at sea or in the mountains, emergency medical transport of life-endangering patients and the rescue of severely traumatised persons and the forest firefighting service, operating even in marginal weather conditions. Since its establishment to the present day, the crews of the 15th Stormo have saved more than 7300 people fighting for their life.
