The 1st edition of the road race, organised by the A.M. / 3rd R.A. Schools Command, took place within the military airport. Colonel Paolo Citta, Commander of the General Headquarters, in his opening speech for the day, thanked the numerous participants, in particular the staff's families and the many children present, as a demonstration of their attachment to the Unit.
The race, besides the multiple colours of the “athletes”" shirts, was distinguished by the commitment of all participants who spared no effort during the various competitions. The most exciting race was the 50-metre race for children aged 2 to 6, in which Alessandro Semeraro was the winner.
Next up was the 600-metre race for boys and girls aged 7 to 13, which was won by Giada Fanelli. This was followed by the 4 km race for “those convinced they can do it”, which saw Gioacchino D’Orfeo come out on top. Finally, the 8 km race for “athletes” crowned Paolo Fiorentino the overall winner.
At the end of the day, Colonel Citta offered all the ladies present a floral tribute, to mark Mother's Day, hoping to host the second edition of the event again next year.
