For several years now, the Ministry of Defence has been organising courses such as the “Maria Grazia Cutuli” to prepare media operators to work in crisis areas where there is an actual or foreseeable level of risk.
These courses, structured into a theoretical and a practical part, are aimed at providing basic knowledge on the behaviour to be adopted in dangerous situations and on how to interact with the components of the Armed Forces operating in the field.
As part of this collaboration with media operators, the Italian Air Force Staff, by specific delegation of the Defence General Staff, has arranged for the practical-training activities of the courses to be conducted at highly operational units such as the 46th Air Brigade, which frequently operates in crisis situations that also involve the transport of media personnel. The Italian Air Force, through the 46th Air Brigade, ensures strategic and tactical air transport for missions within and beyond national borders, emergency medical transport, aeromedical evacuation, and the transport of materials, personnel and equipment worldwide, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
