On Thursday 3rd March, the seminar dedicated to the Treviso Aero Club, former members of the Venice Aero Club and members of the Italian Gliding Federation took place. Following the opening of the seminar by the Wing Commander, Colonel Enrico Garettini, the following speakers took the floor: Lieutenant Colonel Giorgio Quarta, the Unit's Health Officer, who discussed medical topics related to flight activity; Major Stefano Toffano, Head of Flight Safety at the Wing, and Major Denis Pavan from the Operations Office; Captain Raffaele Ballante, Head of the Weather Section, who covered elements of general meteorology and weather phenomena hazardous to flight; and Captain Simone Mancini from the Unit's air traffic service, who illustrated the National Airspace and its related services, as well as topics concerning radio failures, alert services and the filling in of flight plans. At the end of the seminar, the guests visited the Aircraft Maintenance Group hangar to view a static display of AM-X fighter jets. The participants showed a keen interest in the subjects covered during the seminar, bearing witness to the fact that Flight Safety has always been a matter of primary interest in the training of personnel involved in air operations, whether military or civilian.
