Mercoledì 21 luglio il Presidente della FIDAL ha incontrato in raduno gli atleti azzurri dello sprint, tra cui 7 dell’A.M., convocati per Barcellona Il Presidente Arese è stato accoltodal Capo del VReparto dello Stato Maggiore Aeronautica e Presidente di tutte le Sezioni Sportive dell’A.M., Generale di Brigata AereaSalvatore Gagliano, che gli ha mostrato le varie strutture sportive del centro ubicate sull’aeroporto militare di Vigna di Valle. Saranno ben 7 gli atleti del Centro Sportivo dell’Aeronautica Militare che rappresenteranno l’Italia nella competizione continentale: l’Aviere Capo Andrew Howe, che di recente si è laureato Campione Italiano Assoluto con la misura di mt. 8,16 e che nel salto in lungo è chiamato a difendere il titolo conquistato nel 2006 a Goteborg, l’Aviere Scelto Marco Fassinotti, classe 1989, con un primato stagionale di2,28 mt. nel salto in alto che nel 2010lo ha portato alla ribalta internazionale, il Sergente Emanuele Di Gregorio e il Primo Aviere Manuela Levorato, campionessa italiana nei100 mt.,tra i migliori dello sprint italiano, chiamati al doppio impegno sia sui 100 metri piani che con la staffetta 4×100, l’Aviere Scelto Elena Scarpellini, campionessa italiana assoluta, nel salto con l’asta, il Primo Aviere Stefano Tremigliozzi nel salto in lungo e il Primo Aviere Jacques Riparelli con la staffetta 4×100.
