On Wednesday 15 June, the Air Force presented its excellence through an unprecedented video about aerospace power.
At the event, organized by the President of the Canova Club Association, Stefano Balsamo, participated the Undersecretary of State for Defense, Guido Crosetto, the Chief of Staff of the Defense, General Biagio Abrate, and military authorities from the various Armed Forces.
On behalf of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (SMA), Brigadier General Amedeo Magnani, Deputy Head of the SMA Department, participated.
The presentation of the awards was preceded by a series of presentations on the excellence of the four Armed Forces. For the Air Force, General Magnani presented an unpublished film regarding aerospace power, that is, the Air Force’s autonomous ability to control and exploit airspace to achieve the objectives set by the policy related to national interests. This capability, in the scenarios of the ‘post-Cold War’, has proven decisive in achieving the goals expressed by the international community. The film, produced by the Audiovisual Production Center of the V Department of the SMA, also showed some current expressions of aerospace power, with particular reference to the Air Force’s participation in operations to support peace and international security in various crisis zones (such as, for example, those in Libya and Afghanistan).
The Canova Club is an association that promotes friendship, culture and solidarity, with particular attention to the problems of the elderly in need, the future of young people, and the economic and cultural development of the city of Rome.
