NATO Days 2025: the Air Force in the Czech Republic for the major international defence and security event

The Italian Air Force participated on the weekend of 20 and 21 September at NATO Days, a major international defence and security event held annually in the Czech Republic at the’Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava.

On behalf of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Force General Antonio Conserva intervened Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Marshal Giovanni Balestri, who took part in the official inauguration ceremony presided over by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel.

Italy participated in the event, at its 25th edition, as Special Partner Nation, a role that has allowed our country to participate in this important international event with a substantial presence, both on the ground and in the air. Alongside the Air Force, the Italian Army and the Navy were also present with their own assets and personnel.

The’Italian Air Force she turned up to the event with numerous assets and capabilities. The Experimental Sea Practice Flight Division participated with flight demonstrations of the C-27J Spartan, T-346 Master and Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from the 311th Group. To enrich the aerial display, the paratroopers from the special forces made a jump with flags and tricolour smoke canisters. 17th Wing of Furbara along with some colleagues from foreign special forces.

It 6th Wing of Ghedi He spoke with pilots and specialists of the F-35A and Tornado aircraft in special colour versions, which were on static display in the large area dedicated to Italy as a partner nation. Also in the area were the Armed Force's promotional stand and special forces personnel from the 17th Wing which showcased the advanced equipment issued to the public. Concluding the overview of the Armed Force's assets, the static display of the C-130J aircraft from 46th Air Brigade Pisa, thanks to which it was possible to redeploy the large contingent present for the Air Force to the Czech Republic.
