The AM and the University of Florence have signed the agreement for the activation of the Human Resource Management Research Laboratory for Innovation Memorandum of Understanding signed last July On November 12th, General of Squadron Pasquale Preziosa, Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, and the Magnificent Rector of the University of Florence, Professor Alberto Tesi, General of Brigade Giancarlo Lolli, Head of the General Office for Managerial Innovation, Professor Paolo Federighi (Director of the Department of Education Sciences and Psychology) and Professor Carlo Odoardi (Scientific Director of the Research Laboratory) signed the agreement between the Italian Air Force and the University of Florence for the activation of the Human Resource Management for Innovation (HRMxI) research laboratory. This initiative aims to identify an organizational model oriented towards innovation that favors the development of the skills and professional behaviors of AM staff. The collaboration involves the construction of models for analyzing, monitoring, and verifying the management and enhancement processes of personnel, the analysis of leadership models and the evaluation of innovative performance, as well as the collection of elements useful for guiding any new training initiatives. In addition, projects will be developed in the laboratory to experiment with methodologies and tools aimed at developing innovation in the human resources management area. The Armed Forces consider personnel to be the most valuable resource and collaboration with the University of Florence will allow for the further enhancement of this “human capital”, also through the upcoming testing of the new prototype structures of the squadrons, which will be initiated in 2015 at the 32nd Squadron in Amendola (FG). This scientific analysis will allow for examining, evaluating and possibly improving the performance and organizational climate of the operational unit of the Italian Air Force.
