Numerous artists from the Ionian capital have had the opportunity to exhibit their works, dedicated to the Air Force and the operational function that our Armed Force performs every day. The host of the evening was Major Aldo dott. Marturano, President of the Taranto Section of ANUA, who, after conveying the greetings of the National Directorate Council of the National Association of Air Force Officers, in the person of its President, Air Squad General Mario Majorani, expressed his sincere thanks to the Commander of SVTAM, Colonel Roberto Leo, for the hospitality shown on the occasion.
Colonel Leo expressed keen interest in the event, calling on the speakers and artists to provide the appropriate tools to decode the semantic value of the works. This invitation was immediately accepted by Major Aldo Marturano, who invited the guests to seek the suggestions of flight through the works: “Through a veritable «logic of sensation,» art becomes an outward expression of the allure of flight as a movement that does not delimit space, but embraces the world with the wings of fantasy..”
The theme of flight and fantasy, which was later taken up by other speakers such as the artist Arturo Camerino, President of the Cultural Association L’Impronta, and the art critic Giovanni Amodio; among the speakers was also the artist Mary Sgobba, author of the Heraldic coat of arms of the SVTAM.
The works were concluded with a performance by the Accademia Mezzogiorno Musicale, featuring Nicola Ippolito (accordion) and Giovanna Guadagno (vocals).
