On September 14 and 15, 2018, at the EXP Area in Cerea (VR), the “Note d’Azzurro” event was held, an event promoted by the Group Rifornimenti Area Nord (G.R.A.N.) with the sponsorship of the Municipal Administration in occasion of the 100th anniversary of the end of the 1st World War and in order to strengthen the existing bond between the Air Force and the territory of “Bassa Veronese”. The event opened on Friday afternoon, September 14, at 15:00 with the inauguration of the event in the presence of the Mayor of Cerea, Dott. Marco Franzoni, and the Commander of the G.R.A.N. Ten. Col. Paolo Gasparini. During the event, a static exhibition of materials and logistical equipment from the 3rd Squadron of Villafranca (VR) took place; a static photo exhibition and aeromodelling exhibition titled “VOLERE VOLARE”, curated by the Cultural Associations “Il Circolo del 72” of Bovolone and IPMS (International Plastic Modellers’ Society) Italy of Verona, and the exhibition “Il Volo”. This project involved 18 classes, with a total of about 400 primary school students from the Comprehensive Schools of Cerea, Sanguinetto and Bovolone, who were asked to give free rein to their imagination in representing graphically what they considered to be “flight”. With the works they produced, they set up an exhibition during the event. In the evening, a concert by the Fanfara della 1^ Regione Aerea was held, one of the most exciting moments of the event and which saw a large audience participate. The musicians, conducted by the 1st LGT orchestrator maestro Macciomei, performed a selection of classical and contemporary compositions, demonstrating their very high artistic abilities, the high level of performance of the extensive repertoire and the exemplary professional qualities that have always distinguished the Italian Air Force team. On both days, visitors were able to immerse themselves in the role of “pilots”, experiencing the flight program of the National Acrobatics Patrol thanks to the presence of the flight simulators of the “Virtual” Tricolour Frecce Tricolori Group.
