Colonel Raffaele Iannelli has presented scholarships to three female students living in the province of Naples. The ceremony, chaired by the Mayor of Casoria (NA), the hometown of the three students, was attended by a representative of the airport staff and family members of the awardees: Serena Di Paola, daughter of Warrant Officer Giorgio Di Paola, and Silvia Palmanteri and Simona Palmanteri, daughters of Warrant Officer Giuseppe Palmanteri.
In his brief address, the Capodichino Airport Commander congratulated them on the brilliant results achieved and at the same time highlighted the concepts of solidarity and closeness shown by the serving personnel towards the families of deceased colleagues, which had already been emphasised by the Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, Air Squadron General Giuseppe Bernardis, and the President of ONFA, retired Air Squadron General Piergiorgio Crucioli, during the ceremony held in Rome for students resident in the Lazio region.
Capodichino Military Airport ensures the functionality of all general airport services, the operation of military and civil State flight activities, both national and foreign, and on behalf of NATO. Furthermore, it provides administrative and logistical support to the co-located entities: the 5th Aircraft Maintenance Group, the 12th Detached Technical Service, and the Territorial Technical Office of Naples.
