The Air Forces Chiefs of Staff of the countries that are members of the European Air Group met at Palazzo A.M. for a review of the Organization’s activities. The meeting, chaired by the Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, General of the Air Force Giuseppe Bernardis, allowed the participants to appreciate the results achieved by the Organization. In the last year, based on the guidelines provided during the Steering Committee 2011 held in England at the Royal Air Force Bensen, extremely interesting studies have been carried out in the fields of: Defence Review, of the’AirLessons Learned from Surface Integration, of the’Air Force Capabilities and some Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAV). In particular, at the meeting held in Rome it was decided to conduct a study to verify the possibility of creating a European-level center for the Personnel Recovery. It has indeed been recognized that European capabilities in the field could benefit from greater standardization and cohesion that can be achieved at the multinational level. In recent years, E.A.G. has promoted the ’Combined Joint Personnel Recovery Course“ (CJPRC) on an itinerant basis: in 2011, one was held at the Tactical Leadership Programme in Albacete, Spain, while another will be organized this year at the Holzdorf air base in Germany. The stay in Rome of the Chiefs of Staff of the seven Air Forces also allowed for bilateral discussions on topics of common interest for the growth of cooperation between European countries, which was also hoped for in the recent NATO Summit in Chicago. At the end of the meeting, the attached press release was shared. The next meeting of the EAG Steering Committee will take place in Spain in 2013. Press Release
