. On 15 and 16 February 2018, Air Division General Roberto BOI, Head of the Operational Support Department at the Joint Forces Summit Operational Command, visited the national contingent operating between Kuwait and Iraq as part of the anti-Daesh coalition. The visit marked the first stage of a wider fact-finding tour of the Armed Forces“ contingents in the theatre of operations, in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq. The aim was to gain a deeper understanding of, and ”first-hand experience“ of, the challenges faced by the Task Forces deployed in the various operational theatres. In particular, during his time in Kuwait, General Boi visited the Ahmed Al Jaber and Ali Al Salem bases, from which the various units of the Kuwait Task Force (TFA Kuwait) operate, as well as the associated Task Groups, with a joint operational structure suitably integrated with the other national and multinational components, thanks, above all, to the integrated I2MEC cell, responsible for receiving, analysing, processing and transmitting data and imagery to the entire coalition. On the morning of the 16th, General Boi, accompanied by Colonel Cracas, military attaché at the Italian Embassy in Kuwait, attended the flag-raising ceremony; immediately afterwards, General Boi congratulated the Commander and all the personnel of IT NCC Air/TFA K who, through their daily work, characterised by the highest level of professionalism, passion and a sense of duty, have consistently delivered a service of great value and highly appreciated by both national and Coalition forces, making a significant contribution to the success of the operations. Established on 17 October 2014, as part of the national operation ”Prima Parthica“ and the multinational operation ”Inherent Resolve’, the ITNCC/TFA Kuwait ensures unity of command and the synergistic and coordinated deployment of the KC 767A, Predator and AMX aircraft. The mission of the TFA Kuwait is to meet the in-flight refuelling requirements of coalition assets using its own KC 767A; it also contributes to the coalition’s situational awareness through the deployment of its AMX and Predator Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets. These assets produce high-quality imagery, which is then analysed by the I2MEC (Integrated Italian Multisensor Exploitation Cell) intelligence unit and provided to the coalition in the form of analysis
