The School of Foreign Languages of the Air Force has joined the awareness campaign promoted by the radio broadcast Caterpillar
By joining the radio campaign to raise awareness about energy savings and rationalizing consumption, SLEAM participated in the symbolic gesture of “energy silence“Between 18:00 and 19:30, together with the other institutions, private citizens, schools, shops and associations from Loreto.
In particular, some aviators of the School, in uniform and free from duty, voluntarily attended to illuminate, with torches, the exterior and interior of the same Basilica, whose lights were turned off during the event. The participation of the personnel of the Aeronautica Militare, in the evocative setting of devotion to Our Lady of Loreto, since 1920 “Patroness of Aviators““”, testified the commitment that SLEAM has long been directing towards reducing energy consumption, in line with the provisions of the Armed Forces. At SLEAM, in fact, initiatives are being implemented aimed at greater energy efficiency and rationalization of consumption, involving all staff: the use of remote control systems for heating systems and thermostats to regulate temperatures to the lowest possible levels set by law, outdoor lighting with LED lamps with low consumption and twilight sensors, complete shutdown of computers and monitors to avoid unnecessary standby consumption, and last but not least the separate collection of paper and plastic. Since about a year ago, panels for the production of electricity by means of a photovoltaic system have been installed on most of the logistics infrastructures.
