Pilots and loadmasters from Qatar have completed the “Ab-Initio C-130J” course at the Crew Training Centre in Pisa. The activity, which began last February, is the result of an agreement between the Armed Forces of the two countries and is part of the international cooperation activities between the Italian Air Force and foreign Armed Forces. The entire training process, both ground and flight, was carried out by experienced instructor pilots and aircrew operators from the Pisa Air Base Crew Training Centre. During the ground phase, sessions were held on static and dynamic simulators, as well as a cycle of theoretical lessons. The flight phase, on the other hand, was characterised by 10 flight missions for each pilot undergoing training and 7 flight missions for each of the loadmasters, figures that testify to the commitment made by the Italian Air Force to achieve the objective. The activity carried out with QAF personnel represents international recognition of the quality provided by the Italian Air Force's training courses and is part of the ongoing project to internationalise the Crew Training Centre.

The Crew Training Centre of the 46th Air Brigade is tasked with training pilots, onboard operators, and maintenance personnel for the Air Force's C-130J and C-27J fleets. The CAE utilises the “National Training Centre,” co-located within the Centre itself, which houses all cutting-edge training facilities, such as static and dynamic simulators, etc., placing it at the forefront of the international scene.
