A programme of religious and civil celebrations that highlighted the strong bond between the local community and the Armed Forces. The religious event, which has now become a regular fixture, was associated, once again this year, with another initiative of high social value: the regional solidarity day “Give blood, give hope”, to relaunch the message of blood donation and the willingness to donate organs, tissues and cells in favour of those who quietly await an act of human solidarity. The population responded with a great sense of civic duty and responsibility, so much so that a large number of volunteers flocked to the mobile blood collection vehicles of the Military Transfusion Service present to donate blood. Another highlight within the celebration programme was the conferring of Honorary Citizenship, in the capacity of a “Caudine citizen”, and the symbolic handover of the keys to the town of Rotondi to Chief Inspector General Francesco Landolfi, Head of the Italian Air Force Commissary Corps and Director of the Central Budget and Financial Affairs Office of the Ministry of Defence. The ceremony concluded with addresses by the President of the Caudine Section of the A.A.A., Luigi Mainolfi, its founder, Brig. Gen. (ret.) Domenico Cioffi, currently Vice President of the national A.A.A., and the Mayor of Rotondi, Antonio Izzo.
In short, a day of celebration and solidarity, also animated by the gathering of all the Campania sections of the Italian Air Force Association and the presence of the Fanfare of the 3rd Air Region of Bari.
