17th Airport Counter-Terrorism and Anti-Sabotage Course Concludes. The course, organised by the Air Squad Command, took place, as is customary, at the Training Unit of the Force Protection Group of the Pratica di Mare Airport Command. This unit has long been involved in counter-terrorism activities, both on behalf of the High Command and for specific unit requirements. The three-week course saw twenty participants, including a contingent of Air Riflemen from the 16th Wing of Martina Franca and the 9th Wing of Grazzanise, and a contingent of Ground Defence Operational Support personnel from various branches of the Armed Forces. The activities covered by the course, suitably calibrated to the operational realities of the attendees, have long been the subject of study and development by the Instructors Team of the Pratica di Mare Airport Command. Thanks, above all, to continuous exchange and collaboration with the N.O.C.S. (Special Operations Central Service) of the State Police, they have, over time, been able to develop a specific programme that meets the real needs in counter-terrorism, both for Local Protection nationally and for Force Protection activities internationally. The counter-terrorism and anti-sabotage course aims to equip attendees with operational intervention procedures for threats directed at military installations, Close Quarter Battle (CQB) operational procedures, and combat shooting operational procedures.
