A new milestone reached by Italian aircraft for Operation Inherent Resolve
The Devil Task Group of the Italian National Contingent Command Air – Task Force Air Kuwait (IT NCC Air/TFA K) has surpassed the milestone of 5,000 operational flight hours with the A200C aircraft. Tornado, a veteran of the Kuwaiti theatre skies.
Task Group Devil, in fact, has been an integral part of IT NCC Air since the mission began, and the Tornado was among the first operational assets of the’Italian Air Force to be employed in the Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR).
Task Group Devil initially operated from Ahmed Al Jaber Air Base in Kuwait from 2014 to 2016, and subsequently from 2020 to 2021. Since January 2024, it has been participating in OIR for the third time, replacing the aircraft Eurofighter from Task Group Typhoon at Alì Al Salem Air Base.
After the traditional souvenir photo in front of the newly landed aircraft, the Commander of the IT NCC Air, Colonel Giovanni Luca Nicoletti, he thanked the women and men of the Task Group for the effectiveness and professionalism shown, even in such a complex operational context.
Established on 17 October 2014 to participate in the multinational Operation Inherent Resolve, the IT NCC Air ensures unity of command and logistical support for the synergistic and coordinated deployment of assets provided by the Air Force and, with the deployment of the Task Group SAMP/T, by the Italian Army within the multinational coalition.
