Monday 30 December, in the skies of Kuwait, On [Date], an important joint exercise took place between the’Italian Air Force and the Royal Air Force, conceived to test and refine the planning and execution capabilities of a task Close Air Support The event saw the involvement of Italian and US assets, underlining the effectiveness of the international anti-ISIS coalition, operating within the framework of the multinational mission “Prima Parthica".Inherent Resolve”.
The exercise took place in two distinct phases: in the first, Italian assets were used for an escort of a convoy heading towards a pre-established objective; the high technology used by the Italian assets in flight allowed for an increased understanding of the ongoing situation by the personnel deployed on the ground, enabling them to identify the potential presence of asymmetric threats, thereby guaranteeing freedom of movementFreedom of Movement – FOM).
In the second phase, however, the Italian air forces provided direct support to the ground troops engaged in the capture of a High Net Worth Individual (HVI) locale. In this phase, the role of Italian assets proved crucial for the successful outcome of the mission, demonstrating the ability to provide rapid and precise responses regarding any threats.
At the end of the exercise, the Colonel Matteo Zuliani, Commander of the’Italian National Contingent Command Air – Task Force Air Kuwait, expressed his appreciation for all the staff involved, both Italian and American, praising their work. He then wished to emphasize the importance of this event, which represented a fundamental test of operational capabilities and the integration of Italian assets with allied forces. The sharing of information between air assets and ground forces proved, once again, to be essential for effectively preventing terrorist actions against the Coalition.
