On Friday 5th February, an event organised by the A.M. Schools Command / 3rd Air Force Region of Bari was held in the halls of the Officers“ Club. Air Force General Giampiero Gargini, Commander of the A.M. Schools / 3rd Air Force Region, after greeting the guests present, introduced the speaker, Monsignor Francesco Cacucci, Metropolitan Archbishop, Pontifical Delegate for the Basilica of Saint Nicholas of Bari, President of the Puglian Episcopal Conference, as well as a scholar and profound connoisseur of the dynamics associated with the world of communication. In introducing the topic, General Gargini stressed how the theme of the evening is ”engaging, I believe fundamental for all of us and for the present-day society in which we live". In his speech, Monsignor Cacucci gave an initial overview of communication in general, then focusing on a very current topic of image, the messages derived from mass media language, and the effects that can be produced by the presentation of a reality that is very often distorted and deviant.
