“Even after the Court of Appeal's ruling, confident in the lawful conduct of our air traffic controllers” Pending the court's reasoning and in full respect of the judiciary's work, the Italian Air Force is certain of the lawful conduct of its controllers, who were on duty at the Decimomannu Air Base, so much so that it has requested representation from the State Attorney's Office.
The same Bar, at the hearing that preceded the judgment, supported this lawfulness of conduct with exemplary effectiveness, carried out in harmony with current national and international regulations on the matter.
The daily application of regulations has always guaranteed, and will continue to guarantee, through the activity of military air traffic controllers, the effective and safe conduct of civil and military flights.
The Italian Air Force is therefore confident that the continuation of the legal proceedings will definitively establish the validity of its personnel's claims.
Through its own organisation, the Armed Forces are responsible for approximately 20% of the overall management of civil air traffic in Italy. Multimedia Contributions Aeronautics Magazine Article no.6-2009
