The ceremony was presided over by Brigadier General Riccardo Rinaldi, Commander of the School of Air Co-operation in Guidonia on Monday 23 July, at the Air Force Staff College / Viterbo Airport Command, in the presence of the Commandant of the Air Force Staff College and Viterbo Airport, Colonel Leonardo Moroni, and the Commandant of the School of Air Co-operation, Brigadier General Riccardo Rinaldi, an exhibition of static tactical reconnaissance equipment was inaugurated.

The exhibition, located at the Polo Leonardo, the central hub of the Scuola Marescialli’s teaching activities, was curated by Lt. Col. Giampaolo Galdieri, Commander of the Telerilevamento Courses at the Scuola di Aerocooperazione di Guidonia.

The exhibition aims to provide educational material for the training of personnel in the role of Marshals belonging to the Information Operations and Cybernetics (IOC) specialty, and to be informative as it will allow all personnel of the Department to come into contact with significant aspects of “tactical reconnaissance”; it will also highlight the training activities carried out by the School of Aerocooperation in the field of photointerpretation.
Two tactical reconnaissance PODs (an Orpheus and an MBB Aeritalia) will be exhibited in static display, as well as a stereoscopic viewer, a historical photo interpreter bag, all of which have been made available by the School of Aerocooperation, as well as a series of photographic equipment provided by the Viterbo Training Institute.
The Marescialli School of the Italian Air Force/Air Force Command of Viterbo is subordinate to the Command of the Schools of the Italian Air Force and to the 3rd Air Region of Bari; the Department carries out a dual mission: on the one hand, as a university-type institution, it has the task of providing military and moral training and specific professional education for Sub-Officers in the Marescialli Role, as well as of perfecting and updating that training; on the other hand, as a military airport open to civilian traffic, it provides technical and operational support, air navigation services and force-protection activities at the Tommaso Fabbri airport.
