The Honourable Domenico Rossi visits Ghedi Air Base (BS)
The government authority then continued by visiting the infrastructure of Ghedi Military Airport: the Command and Control Centres, the flight group headquarters, the maintenance hangars and the other support facilities. Among all of these, the most interest was sparked by the marquee containing the PA-200 “Tornado” aircraft and the base's Operations Centre, which has recently undergone a refurbishment of its premises; during these activities, meeting the military and civilian personnel of the 6th Wing, they expressed great appreciation for the work carried out by the women and men of the Unit. In particular, at the end of the visit to the base's infrastructure, the Honourable Rossi addressed a representation of the Unit's military and civilian personnel, gathered for the occasion, to whom he addressed “the invitation to take pride in belonging to the Italian Armed Forces, which enjoy unanimous appreciation internationally”adding“whose sense of duty, spirit of sacrifice and dedication to serving others are an example to the whole country”.
Before leaving the base, the Undersecretary took part in two traditional moments of visits to Italian Air Force wings: the exchange of gifts, with the presentation to him of the Crest of the “Red Devils”, reciprocated with the Crest of the Ministry of Defence, and the signing of the 6th Wing's Roll of Honour, on which the event will be recorded with the dedication “I breathed an air of the highest professionalism, of tangible results, and of achieved objectives. All of this combined with a profound sense of belonging and primary foundational values. I am leaving ‘revitalised’ at having witnessed once again the reality of the Italian Air Force in general and the 6th Wing in particular”.
