The Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Logistics Command was received by the Deputy Commander of the COA, General Paolo Mazzi. General Draghi, accompanied by Colonel Anacleto Mocci, made an introductory visit to review and examine in depth the logistical aspects supporting operational activity. Upon his arrival in Poggio Renatico, General Draghi was received by Air Brigade General Paolo Mazzi, Deputy Commander of the COA and Head of the Operations Preparation Division, who, after welcoming him, presented the guest with the Unit Crest.
Subsequently, the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Logistics Command, after attending a briefing on the organisation and functions of the COA, visited the National Operations Centre (AOC – Air Operations Centre) and that of the Air Defence Radar and Control Group (GRCDA).
The visit then moved to the bunker housing the operations rooms where the ACCS (Air Command and Control System), NATO's new Command and Control system, is currently being implemented.
The activity then continued at the Operations Preparation Department, where the functions of the Air Operation Training Centre (IT-AOTC) were illustrated, whose mission consists in qualifying and preparing Armed Forces personnel to operate within a Command and Control structure for the planning, conduct and sustainment of air operations in multinational (NATO, EU, UN, COALITIONS) and national contexts.
The visit concluded with an inspection of the facilities at the COA logistics base, located in Ferrara. Upon leaving Poggio Renatico, General Draghi thanked the Deputy Commander of the COA for the hospitality received and expressed words of appreciation for the commitment and professionalism demonstrated by the personnel.
