The traditional medal of the Consular Corps of Milan and Lombardy was awarded to the Commander of the 1st Air Region and Combat Forces, Gen. D.A. Silvano Frigerio. This year too, the Consular Corps of Milan and Lombardy – due to the presence of the largest delegation in the world – wished to award its own medal to some representatives of the Italian and international institutions and the business world, as a testament to the closeness and respect shown by the Consuls in their careers and honorary positions towards them.
The ceremony, held at the prestigious headquarters of the Society of the Garden, was embellished by the presence of the Fanfara della 1^ Regione Aerea, which performed the National Anthem at the opening.
The Consular Corps has awarded, among others, the Commander of the 1st Air Region and Combat Forces, Gen. D.A. Silvano Frigerio, in recognition of his continued attention as Commander of the Military Guard of Milan, to the community and, in particular, to the fruitful collaboration with the Consuls, aimed at promoting and facilitating international relations with the countries represented by them.
This assignment represents a further confirmation of the strong bond between the 1st R.A. Command, the consular authorities and the institutions of the city of Milan, and is therefore extended to all personnel of the Italian Air Force present in the Lombardy region, increasingly integrated into local realities, in whose areas it continues to distinguish itself with professionalism and diligence at the service of the country.
